    George managed the IBM Branch in Melbourne before leaving IBM in 1981 to join Fujitsu – “George Ranucci, an urbane Italian, was Fujitsu Australia’s second Managing Director. After joining in 1981 as Sales Manager, he succeeded Mike Rydon as Managing Director in 1985. In that year, the company changed its name from FACOM Australia to Fujitsu Australia. During his time as Managing Director, Fujitsu Australia became the most successful of all Fujitsu’s international subsidiaries.” ACS Heritage Project: Chapter 28

    George resigned from Fujitsu in August 1989 to pursue other business interests and his passion for painting. He attended the ‘IBM in the 70’s Reunion’ in Melbourne in the 1990’s
