Sad news of the passing of Adrian Porteous in Melbourne on 27 December 2024 aged 69 years.
An Obituary notice published in The Age described him as "Much loved partner, brother, father, grandpa. A man of many friends, many travels and even more stories; who never wanted to arrive, for that would be the end of the journey. He will be well missed and remembered."
Adrian worked joined IBM as an SE Manager in 1983. After leaving IBM in 1997 he went on to perform various roles in Melbourne, Perth and overseas. He served as Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Board Member over a number of years with the Victorian Branch of the Australian Computer Society.
