For many years IBM Customer Service in Melbourne was based at Normanby Road South Melbourne. On a Friday the Customer Engineers would have an Indian Lunch at the Bengal Tiger - if work allowed of course. For a brief period Barry Ballard was a Manager of one of the CE teams, and of course he joined in. Barry moved to other positions in the organisation, but the local CE community lamented the lack of a”lunch”, and for reasons now lost in the fullness of time Barry became the custodian and organiser. The lunches have migrated from South Melbourne and are now held at Le Taj Indian Restaurant, Rosslyn Street, West Melbourne. Most attendees are either from the CE community or the Admin team that supported them. Over the years the attendee list has grown and expanded to other (now former) IBMers who have a connection. There is no exclusivity - anyone is welcome!! The Curry Muncher lunch occurs about 6 times a year. - BYO wine only.
