This is a post I wish I did not have to write to you all. I am very sad and shocked to tell you our esteemed and ever-popular colleague John Cutterham passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday last.
John was such a pillar of strength and character for the IBM Melbourne location and for the FSS team, both in Melbourne and across the country, in particular. His fearlessness in doing what was right for the customer – and for telling them when they were out of line, as well – was legend and universally admired. He will be sorely missed at our gatherings and I know you join with me in expressing our deepest condolences and sympathies to Lesley and their children at this terribly sad time.
We now have complete details of John’s memorial service:

Doug Parke, Secretary
So shocked and saddened to hear this news. John was my manager for a number of years and became a great friend and mentor over my last 20 years with IBM. He will be remembered for his strong personality, great sense of humour, and general enjoyment of life. My deepest sympathy to Lesley and family
John was both my colleague and my manager and excelled at both. He was fiercely loyal to his people and had a great talent in bringing diverse people together and when necessary, pushing them to achieve really good outcomes. He counselled me through some stressful times in IBM and I shall be forever grateful for his wisdom and his friendship. He also knew how to party! Rest in peace, John, on a never-ending fairway.
