IBM Alumni NSW members recently attended several tours of the Sydney GPO building, now the Fullerton Hotel. Starting with the Tank Stream in the basement, we heard all about the design and evolution of the building to service the growing communication needs of the colony of NSW, through to it's conversion to a luxury hotel. Many original features have been preserved. While a well recognised landmark, most of us had not noticed the statues on the top of the building – all are different and have stories behind them – next time you're walking past the building on George St, Martin Place or Pitt St, remember to look up!
